چکیده

To circumvent issue of Rayleigh noise reduction in wavelength-divisionmultiplexed passive optical network (WDM-PON), we provide an insight into the source of Rayleigh noise, and confirm that the suppression of carrier Rayleigh backscattering (RB) should be the primary target in the design of Rayleigh noise-resilient upstream receiver module. This paper studies an alternative network architecture with dynamic wavelength allocation to provide a scalable optical architecture with a guaranteed QoS in the presence of dynamic and bursty traffic loads. The dependence of carrier RB suppression on DI’s extinction ratio (ER) and optical carrier’s line width is also theoretically analyzed. In this article, we present a delay-constrained admission control mechanism and adapt this scheme to our previously proposed bandwidth allocation technique. The relations between different parameters of optical network unit (ONU) are also studied.

Demonstration of time-wavelength co-allocation (TWCA) problem in novel dynamic wavelength scheduled WDM-PON for distributed computing applications

This paper studies the problem of the implementation of distributed computing applications in local area networks. We propose a novel Dynamical Wavelength Scheduled Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network (WDMPON) architecture, in which the number of the available upstream wavelength channels is greatly less than that of optical network units (ONU). And we experimentally demons...

A Novel Protection Guaranteed, Quality of Transmission Aware Routing and Wavelength Assignment Algorithm for All-optical Networks

Transparent All Optical Networks carry huge traffic and any link failure can cause the loss of gigabits of data; hence protection and its guarantee becomes necessary at the time of failure. Many protection schemes were presented in the literature, but none of them speaks about protection guarantee. Also, in all optical networks, due to absence of  regeneration capabilities, the physical layer i...
